I'm the aforementioned ordinandy (Andy Campbell) - apparently resident non-tekkie, (although my geek status is assured in a number of other areas).

Been a Christian since my late teens/early 20s, and involved in youth work and/or church leadership type stuff for almost all of that time, (am now a grand old man of 38).

I've been using ubuntu since Dom waterboarded me repeatedly about it around a year ago {sobs quietly at the memory} - if only iTunes worked on it...

I don't sing, and generally find Christian music of any style or era abhorrent - although I have been known to write a poem or story every now & then - neither quality nor quantity is high...

Am presently training for ordination within the CofE, for my many sins

Hey everyone,

My name is William - you'll most likely find me online as 'd0nk3y' or some derivative of that.

I just recently turned 38, have been a Christian since I was about 16 - though only 'seriously' from around the age of 20.

I'm the team leader of the IT department at a Regional Council in the Lower North Island of New Zealand and live with my wife of almost 15 years and two sons (13 and 11) about 45kms away from the city where said Council is based.

We worship with a small group of people (20-40 or so) at a Christian Fellowship in the next wee town from where we live (about 5 mins down the road). My wife and I are part of the worship team - singing and playing guitar, and occasionally leading as well.

I've been using linux in one form or another since around 2001 and have used every version of Ubuntu so far - including at work since 2005.

Open content FTW!

Hi Folks,
Having a bit more 'spare' time afetr retirement from running 5 CofE parishes (and being Rural Dean for 4 years!) a project like this scratches where it itches. There is some free stuff on the Arthur Rank Centre website relating to rural services - Plough Sunday, Harvest etc. When you (sorry - WE) get going, they may put up a link for us. I can always ask if you think it would be appropriate. The cost of a copyright licence is prohibitive for tiny rural churches who are alraedy struggling to pay their way.
Anything that we can do to further the Kingdom must be good.

Blessings
Terry

Hello I'm Richard Cant,

I'm an Orthodox Christian living in the Nottingham UK. I the parish I belong to is part of the Russian Church - although I'm not Russian myself.

I was very taken with the way you have tagged your site with Matthew 10: 8 - because in our church there is a whole class of Saints called "Holy Unmercenaries". These are usually doctors who offered their services without charge. When one of these Saints is commemorated then a passage from Matthew 10, ending on verse 8, is the scripture reading that is used.

I have created a free software computer program for generating sheet music from separate melody and lyrics files. It is designed for Orthodox Liturgical music - where we often have to set different sets of words to standard melodies.

However please feel free to use it for other music if you wish - I hope you find it useful.

It can be found here http://www.orthodoxeastmidlands.co.uk/music.html

Hi All

My name is Bev and I am from Leicester (UK), also known as Leicfaz, faz from my nickname at school and I added the Leic on when I came down here from glorious Yorkshire..... I found the site by accident researching my BCYM latest assignment and thought it looked helpful for young people and youth events etc.

I have been involved in young people and youth work at churches for ever...... Both young church on sunday mornings and speical services to young people and youth events. When I came to Leicester I moved from a small parish church in a yorkshire village to the Cathedral, this was initially strange but the changes to how young peoples work and youth work is not so different, although we dont have a def catchment of children and young people.

Did I read that someone mentioned FB that would be good I am up for a FB group too.

Take care all God bless :)

Hi to the new contributors,

just to say that although things seem to have gone a bit silent here, I am working on something which could get us started. The Facebook group didn't seem to get anywhere - probably because everyone is so busy  . I may have to sign up to FB and start that off then.

thanks for the interest.
